All environment sounds can be generated from X-Plane. X-Plane (and the simulated aircraft) can generate sounds for:

  • Thunderstorms, Winds, Rain
  • Propellers, Engines, Flaps, Landing gear, Wheels
  • COM/NAV identifiers
  • Warning systems

The environment audio is produced by a surround audio card installed on the X-Plane computer. The audio card is configured to output 5.1 audio channels. The cabine is equipped by five speakers (two front, two back and one  sub-woofer). The audio card drivers allow a different sound effects and different equalizer settings to be selected in order to produce the most realistic environment sounds.
